Summary
Boromir, as first born, is pitched into command as if naturally fitted for it. Faramir, as second born, is sent to military school to learn how these things are done. It turns out he doesn't get on that well with the nobility of Gondor, but sort-of fits in with the other ranks.
Set in the same time-line as "Smooth Operator."

Summary
Boromir finds himself unexpectedly in the family flat in London between one job and another. His music student brother heads over to meet him, but shows up rather late because he had to go to a friend's concert first. Who is the friend, and why is Faramir being so cagey about the whole thing? A careful interrogation, aided by a rather fine bottle of single malt, should do the trick, Boromir thinks.
Modern day AU, part of my music school series. Set early on during the events of The Triple Fool.

Summary
The music school AU no-one knew they needed till now!
Éowyn Earl is the star horn player in her year, simultaneously wrestling with the demons of her past, struggling with her current crush on violinist Aragorn Walker, and wondering what to do about the hideous professor Wykeham King who is making everyone’s lives miserable. Meanwhile, in the background, gradually coming into focus, is a very talented pianist, one Faramir Hurin.
A journey through healing, redemption, friendship - and a bit of revenge. Plus a very slow burn relationship. And a love-letter to my favourite orchestral instrument.
Inspired by ElrondScribe's brilliant Silmarillion music school AU.
No resemblance to any actual musicians intended, considerable liberties with my representation of the RNCM. Indeterminate time-frame: a bit like the Manchester of my teens (and its often unfortunate social attitudes); in other respects more up-to-date. The Mancunian rain is entirely accurate, however, and I make no apology for that.
Complete with playlist and epic author's notes.

As Faramir takes up his duties and prepares for the King's return, those around him quietly care for him. A later chapter in this story will include that kiss on the wall—how could it not?
This story is a companion piece for “Of Claim and Councils”, though each story can be read separately.
