Summary
Music was a language without words, a form of expression free from the vignettes which cloud his rigid understanding of the world and people around him. To Katsuki, music was the only thing in the world that was truly black and white.
What he felt for Izuku exactly. Well, that was one of those things Katsuki couldn't quite grasp. He knew he admired Izuku, he knew he cared for him, he knew that he craved nothing more than to surpass him. But there was something else that nagged Katsuki. Something he couldn't name. Nor could he decipher whether it was a combination of every complicated feeling and regret he held in that part of his heart, or a some bizzare confounding variable he had not yet labled. What Katsuki felt for Izuku might have made sense if he had written a symphony each time they spoke, each time they said goodbye, each time they fought, each time they looked at each other from across the room, each time they'd avoided each other in the hallways. It might have made sense if he had divided the life they'd spent together into movements and placed an incongruous requiem dead in the middle.
