Bilbo's hair has always grown very fast and as a Baggins, he takes pride in a neat apperance. No adventure is going to prevent him from keeping his hair trimmed! For a dwarf, however, talking about hair is very taboo, something you only discuss with family or a close lover. Cutting a dwarf's hair communicates great grief or unspeakable shame. That's why the Company are in despair when Bilbo keeps cutting his beautiful hair. They can't figure out why, when they've told him countless times his past doesn't matter to them...

Summary
During Thorin's final battle, one that almost cost him his life, Bilbo was given a choice. By way of Gandalf's magical arts, Bilbo could give up a part of himself to save his beloved Dwarf, but in turn, he must learn to live with his newfound disability.
And Thorin will be there every step of the way, guiding and protecting him, and shouldering any woes.

“It’s got such a presence to it, even from a distance,” Bilbo says softly, and there’s a general murmur of awed agreement from the others. “Why, in all my fifty years, I never thought I’d see such a thing, and we haven’t even arrived yet!”
Thorin’s sword hits the ground with a clatter, and Balin chokes on his pipe.
The hobbit doesn’t look at Thorin, too busy thumping Balin on the back. Once the dwarf seems able to breathe again, he looks up, to find thirteen wide pairs of eyes fixed on him.
“What?” he says defensively, though he’s not sure what he’s defending.
“You’re how old?” Kíli squeaks.
Bilbo frowns at the young dwarf. “I’m fifty years old. Well, fifty-one, come springtime. Though it is not very polite to ask someone their age so bluntly,” he tells him primly.
Fíli makes a choked sound, and Nori lets out a vicious string of swears in Khuzdul.

the shire is gone....only 5 hobbits remain.... bilbo and 4 small hobbits. in order to survive Bilbo must become a thief.... he cant go back to erebor, he's still banished...but dale should be fine right? he will hide just in case. some misunderstandings cause nori to hate this secret thief not knowing it's bilbo. once he does find out, with the help of dori and ori, he's determined to help their hobbit and his new sons
