Summary
Cal has been picking up echoes for as long as he can remember. For years they existed as nothing more than fleeting glimpses into the past. Mostly harmless and easily forgotten. But then war came, and the echoes he found became harder to ignore until it became too much to bear. His mind broke under the strain. Now voices plage him every waking moment, following him into sleep, dredging up memories that aren't his own. Failed by the Order who was supposed to protect him, Cal couldn't trust anyone with his rare ability, not even other Jedi. When his true identity is revealed, Cal is thrust into a mission to restore the Order and fight back against the Empire, but to do so he must repair his fractured connection to the Force and learn to overcome the voices.

Summary
He can see Greez’s face out of the corner of his eye, so he gets to witness the journey his friend’s expression takes. Surprise, like Greez is understanding for the first time that yes, Cal does pick up such things once in a while, followed by a sort of resigned surprise as he realizes he probably should’ve figured that out sooner. Amusement, very hastily smothered because he promised not to laugh. Just a fraction of a second of envy, which, okay, Cal will give him; it’s cheaper than paying for low-quality skin flicks.
And then the lightbulb turns on. Cal goes back to staring out the viewport so he doesn't have to see the horror.
(or, Cal really hates the sex echoes.)

“As for the whereabouts of the Chancellor’s assassins, no official statement from the Jedi Council has been released except that any information regarding these two individuals be reported immediately to the authorities.”
Two grainy images of their faces appear: Cal, sporting a new lightsaber burn across his face and Vos with his dreads flying loose and wild. They must have been taken from the Senate security footage.
“Did we make things worse? I think we made them worse.” Cal drags his knees up to his torso and hugs his arms around them. He continues to intently watch the Coruscant newsfeed.
“…and now, we now go to Reporter Delshie on Naboo, where protests have broken out across the planet…."
Vos just takes another swig of his Corellian whisky.
Two psychometric Jedi receive an assortment of items from the Force. Each object contains echoes, or memories, that tell of a future to come. And it is a very dark future indeed…
