Summary
Set after Season 2 episode 3 of Home Movies where McGuirk and Lynch are on a trip to Cancun, Mexico. It's the morning after McGuirk and Lynch's disastrous night at the bar and subsequent search for the hotel (it turns out "Donde esta la hotel that we were staying at" doesn't get useful replies). They head to the free breakfast at the hotel, tired and hungover, but with a friendship that might be turning into something more.

The snow was gone now, fading as they walked, melting into trickles that turned into streams and ran through pale yellow grass, slowly stirring with the first breezes of spring. Hank had forgotten how good it felt to be welcomed with a breath of life. “Here,” he said, pulling Connor to a stop. Crouching, he gestured for Connor to follow suit and put his hands over Connor’s, pressing them palm-down to the earth. “Feel that?”
Connor nodded, his fingers sifting through the rich dirt and sinking, further down, like he meant to grasp the roots. “There’s life here,” he said quietly, still pressing deeper. “Hiding under the cold.”
“Waiting to come out."

Summary
Hank must have shut his eyes. When he opened them again, something loomed in front of him, shapeless and unknowable in the black. It should have scared him, but instead, he only looked, thinking without words that he had a few more seconds before he would have to gasp for air and the water would fill his lungs. He’d played with his gun enough times to know what it was like, coming close to death, but this was so far outside his control that it was impossible to know how to feel. Mostly, he was numb, but that might have been the cold.
Whatever had him in its grip came closer, and closer, and Hank couldn’t take it anymore. He opened his mouth.
The figure was a man.

Summary
The mostly peaceful Android Rebellion of 2038 ended with tentative success, but now the androids must carve out a permanent place in a wary society. Markus, trying to hold on to that hard-won freedom, gets drawn into Hank and newly deviant Connor’s investigation into a string of complex thefts and murders. With far too many coincidences for comfort and old enemies resurfacing in the shadows, Markus has to figure out fast who he can trust. Letting North blow everything up is starting to sound like a better idea every day…

Incredibly emotional and well written! Connor/Markus if you squint and past Markus/Simon with even less squinting. Father son Hank & Connor (made me cry in a good way). Note to self end before the epilogue to let Connor be happy

Summary
The large merman grins almostly wickledy behind his mask. “You can call me Hank, by the way,” he says. “Suppose we’re in this shit show together now, huh?”
Connor doesn’t know if he’s ever heard that phrase before and files it away for later. “You have a peculiar way of speaking,” he says, but Hank seems unbothered by it, blinking indifferently. “If you’re imprisoned,” Connor tries again, “where was it they took you from?”
“The Big O,” Hank says, obviously trying to be funny even though Connor doesn’t quite know what he means. He doesn’t think this situation is funny at all.
“Where’s that?” he asks, and Hank laughs outright in a rush this time.
“The ocean,” he says, incredulous. “Where else?”
