Vi wandered over to the expensive vintage sofa and flopped down onto it. “Yep. Exactly. Like the famous boxer.”
Caitlyn blinked into the silence as it hit her that Vi was actually serious. Her face flushed so red she thought she might faint. How many times had she watched Violet’s fights a few years ago with the biggest crush on her and those muscles ?

Caitlyn finds out her new fling is a fraud when she comes face-to-face with the woman’s wife, Vi. They team up to confront their lying lover but find their hearts beating a bit too strongly for one another to be just friendly solidarity over a vendetta.

Summary
Caitlyn's not sure exactly what she was expecting when she first walked into that classroom, but what she had found had thrown her for such a loop it almost made her dizzy. It’s almost ridiculous how attractive Vi is. Simply, mathematically, it does not add up. There has to be a catch somewhere, Caitlyn reasons.
The catch, apparently, is that Vi is her coworker, teetering on the edge of being too old for her, and their families absolutely despise each other.
Or: Caitlyn and Vi were both injured in the same freak accident 13 years ago and are supposed to hate each other. Somehow they both end up teaching at the same university. Chaos ensues.

“So now what?” Caitlyn asked, her voice controlled but thin.
Vi met her gaze. “Now we stop pretending your ankle is fine just because you can make it look that way.”
Caitlyn scoffed. “I didn’t fall.”
“You didn’t have to.”
Silence stretched between them. Caitlyn shifted her weight from one skate to the other.
“You said ten minutes.”
Vi glanced at the clock. “We’re at eight.” She hesitated. “And you’re… impressive.”
Caitlyn blinked, surprised. “Oh," she said. "Well, I suppose are you too.”
Vi frowned. “I'm just doing my job.”
Caitlyn smiled faintly, pushing off the boards. “Most people don’t do it like you.”
OR
Caitlyn is the best figure skater at Piltover University. Vi is a student physical therapist. When Caitlyn tweaks her ankle before a big competition and is assigned to Vi, their strictly professional arrangement begins to slip.

Vi snorted softly, not unkind, but dismissive. “It’s not that late.”
“It’s nearly midnight,” Caitlyn replied, still calm. “And the walls are quite thin.”
Or the one when Caitlyn is irritated by the Vi’s work out schedule. A war started between two neighbors that turns into something more.
