It hit us at night, i was asleep and while it wasn’t uncommon for me to be woken up by my upstairs neighbors yelling and banging on walls, this time was different. The usually yelling and doors slamming was now blood curdling screams and furniture breaking i was so sure that they were killing each other that i tried to phone the police, and only after the line came up busy for the third time did I realize that the screams weren’t just upstairs; they were next door, left, right, in the hall, and down, in the streets 6 floors below me.
That’s when I realized i was truly fucked.
