No, the entire continent. You mark my words, Tianzhen! I told you so!”
By his side, there’s the faint sound of shuffling leaf litter. “Pangzi,” Wu Xie says, placating. “It’s not that bad.”

It’s not that Pangzi doesn’t support his friends. He does! In fact, he’s relatively certain that no one wants the two of them to get together more than him. After all, no one else has to actually live with the day-to-day horror of what Pangzi has come to call The Star-Crossed Lovers Shit Show.
No one else has to live the life Pangzi has to live and, quite frankly, he’s tired of it.

At this point, Wu Xie is pretty sure Xiaoge has some kind of underlying condition. Maybe the tomb had particles dangerous to Zhangs, or maybe he has a cut somewhere that he hasn’t disclosed.
Wu Xie is trying not to worry, but the older man’s heart monitor keeps jumping when Wu Xie is around, and Wu Xie can’t seem to find any explanation.

Yes, he’d made mistakes in his time raiding tombs, but surely this was just a bit too much retribution? What kind of deity had he pissed off that he had the bad luck to wake up, groggy and discombobulated, to find himself tied spread-eagle to what appeared to be, from his limited viewpoint, some kind of intricately carved stone dais?
(And -- most importantly -- how come this kind of shit never seemed to happen to Sanshu, despite the fact that the sly old fox had done far worse than Wu Xie ever had?)
