Summary
Suzuki Iruma wouldn’t say he was necessarily touch-starved, he just occasionally and randomly goes to Balam for his "regularly scheduled human health check-ups,” meant to mark his growth and progress. A check-up, in which, Balam would easily get a tad distracted and go from checking in to just petting Iruma. Or how he always allowed Clara to glomp onto him because he "couldn’t stop her from doing so," and "it’s always best to prepare for the inevitable." Nor did he even find most of Lord Sullivan’s antics annoying, nor did he particularly dislike how his adoptive grandfather spoiled him - personal embarrassment notwithstanding.
No, Suzuki Iruma wouldn’t say he’s touch-starved, but others could make a compelling case that he’s compensating for the years he had lived with a lack of genuine affection.
OR
The Misfits help Iruma make up for lost time in terms of physical affection.

Summary
Opera had suddenly wanted a child, when Iruma had been suddenly sold to the Sullivan family it's up to Sullivan and opera to now raise the young demon who coincidentally knows nothing about being a demon or a person in general. Hopefully Iruma will slowly learn to accept himself and his new family. Iruma has not been treated well by his biological family and hopefully will learn and start to live again.

That was the excuse Asmodeus always told when demons questioned Iruma’s lack of knowledge on mundane things. Well, perhaps ‘assumption’ is a better word to use than ‘excuse’.
