“I didn’t know then! And how come you never said anything to me, huh?” Eddie yells.
“There was never a good time!” Buck says desperately.
“Right because you only had 7 years, and we only hung out every night.”
“Not- not- not… every night.” Buck tries. “And it’s not like I didn’t think to tell you, Eddie, but I thought you were straight! And things got in the way, like- dead-wife doppelgängers, and girlfriends, and and and… dead-wife doppelgängers.”
“Hey there was only ONE dead-wife doppelgänger, ok, and do you even have a point?” Eddie says, huffing out a breath of air in frustration.

Summary
“Eddie, breathe. You have to breathe,” his mom’s voice rings through his ears.
“Buck…” he chokes out, not realizing until now how constricted his breathing had gotten.
His mom’s look of sorrow and pity will be forever etched into Eddie’s brain. He feels bile rising in his throat as he anticipates her next words.
“I have your friend on the phone.. she apparently tried to call you but…” but he had been ignoring every call, relentlessly calling Buck. With a shaking hand, he takes the phone from his mom and puts it to his ear.
“Eddie.”
“Athena,” Eddie lets some of the air flow out of his lungs, hearing Athena’s calm voice somewhat grounding him.
“Buck is missing. He… He took him.”- Or, Buck is kidnapped by a serial killer while Eddie is in El Paso, and he’s the first one to realize something is wrong. He and Christopher go back to LA, and he, Maddie, Athena, and the rest of the 118 work together to find him. Eddie crashes the fuck out, leading to some pretty huge realizations.

Eddie has no idea how to cope when a temporary case of amnesia causes the return of Buck 1.0. Buck has no clue why his future self hasn't made the moves on his hot best friend. It all goes pretty well, considering.
