Summary
Harlequin’s heat wasn’t to be for another month. Not once in his life had it ever been off schedule. That on its own was a bit surprising, but with his regular sexual endeavors, even more so. It would be easy to assume that something like that could easily set his heat into motion much earlier than usual.
But that had never happened.
And it wouldn’t. So thought Harlequin, of course.
But things began to get a little off kilter due to some… harmless eavesdropping.
He can’t be blamed for being curious about what Jester and Ticket Taker had been murmuring about so excitedly. It was rare to see the two of them so fixated on something.
So, imagine his surprise when the topic is you.
Something in him itches.

Summary
Disgraced journalist Lyla Ramsey was medically fearless, technically homeless, legally missing, and allegedly insane.
Lyla knew that monsters were real. All she needed was proof.
-----
"The Freak Circus of Horrors was far from the first crew masquerading as a human business she had investigated; hell, they weren’t even the first /circus/ she’d investigated. Monsters, it seemed, had a “thing” for show biz.
She most often found them hidden in plain sight. They gravitated to places with bright colors and flashing lights; sights and sounds that would blind people to their true nature. Amusement parks, carnivals, tourist traps, circuses; all places where humans were willing to push their every instinct aside and explain away even the strangest of things."
