Summary
Arthur would have been more than happy to live the rest of his life (or his father’s life, more specifically) with his pretty blonde head buried under the sand.
Trust Merlin (and a farmer!), to not only ruin his plans, but also shamelessly lie.
Also, Arthur was so getting new knights. In other words, Arthur wants a vacation and Merlin is a lying liar who lies. Normal life in Camelot.

Summary
It's a lie.
Merlin isn’t a lightweight, dammit. It takes more than a couple of miserly pints of beer to send him rolling under the table, and anyone who dares to say anything to the contrary is a brazen liar and an unabashed twat.

Summary
---
“Did you intend for me to find these?” Arthur asked, opening his hand and flattening the parchment on the table.
Merlin’s stomach dropped. He lunged to stand, but Arthur was faster, a firm hand pressing down on the back of his neck.
Arthur leaned in, lips hairs away from his ears, "Do you want me to do these things to you, Merlin?"
In a last-ditch attempt at saving his dignity, Merlin shook his head no, and was about to say as much when Arthur's hand squeezed, "Don't", he growled, "lie to me".
"I'm sorry," Merlin exhaled, but Arthur's grip did not relent, as that wasn't answering his question. "Yes."
---During a rutine search of the castle for magical objects, Arthur finds a particular stash of pages that Merlin had tried to keep hidden. But it isn't about magic. No. It's about something far worse.

Summary
“For what it’s worth, I truly believe there’s someone out there who’s right for you. I believe there’s someone for everyone.”
This time, Arthur let the tears spill over. “You mean that?”
“I do.” And God, Arthur believed him.
He found himself wishing, once again, that he were like everyone else.
And as surprising as it was, he found himself wishing that Merlin was his person.
But Arthur wasn’t like everyone else. And Merlin wasn’t his person.
