Summary
To stop Thanos, Stephen Strange is forced to cast a spell where the Avengers and co are kicked out of their home dimension and placed into a complete new one to start anew.
But weakened in battle, Strange only had enough strength to bring half of the heroes in Gotham, the rest were all scattered into various hidden limbo realms within the multiverse until they could safely be retrieved.
But with no money any only the gear they came with, they have no way of getting the materials needed to build the portal needed to bring their missing friends home.
At least, not legally.
Deciding to temporarily turn into a crime mob, the Avengers are now known in Gotham as a gang of criminals who steal high tech machinery from LexCorp, Wayne Industries, etc.
The Avengers are now fighting to not just bring their missing family and friends back to this new dimension, but to throw off the bat and bird themed vigilantes that are hunting them down.
Only one thing was certain in this dimension: chaos!

He stands there for a few moments, just staring and so, so hungry before he pads back to the room. There’s a sharp, prickling pain in his stomach as he turns away from the stairwell but he just hisses quietly through his teeth, wondering half-heartedly if it’s appendicitis. That’d be great.

The second clue is a splash of water- holy water, undoubtedly- tossed in his face before he could even get a word out.
