To wear the face of a Spirit,” Uncle picked up his cup, again, with a small pause to emphasise his point, “it’s inviting trouble.”
Zuko gulped.

Zuko is Toph's bodyguard and they are like siblings. (Not complete but damn good, Worth the despair of getting attached and then suddenly there isn't any more.)

After being burned and banished to the Earth Kingdom, Zuko does the impossible-
-he airbends.
Faced with the realization that he's the Avatar, and the even sharper realization that so much of what he's been taught growing up is a lie, he has to figure out what the hell he's actually supposed to do about it when he's pretty sure nearly everyone wants him dead. Can he even find anyone to teach him?
(or: local fire nation avatar takes the most unconventional journey to master the four elements- and everything beyond.)

When he takes the hit for Katara in the Agni Kai, he doesn't survive. But while he isn't lucky, he is Agni's favorite- and the sun spirit decides to give him another chance. As Prince Zuko breathes his last breath, a baby in the Si Wong desert breathes their first- a legacy from his past life already branded on his face.
(or, Zuko dies- but he also lives.)
