Park Sunghoon, the university's hockey captain, isn't actually failing Calculus II. But when deliberately bombing a midterm is the only way to get the fiercely intelligent, organized Economics major assigned as his peer tutor, it's a sacrifice he's more than willing to make.
Yang Jungwon just wants to survive the semester, keep his 4.0 GPA intact, and avoid campus gossip at all costs. He doesn't have time for a supposedly clueless athlete who keeps buying him coffee, invading his personal space, and offering up his umbrella in the rain.
It really is a flawless plan. Well...until it isn't.

“How's Jungwon?” Sunghoon asks as he steps closer.
Jay doesn't have to answer; the way Jungwon looks speaks for itself. His cheeks are flushed, two red spots glowing over his otherwise pale face. He's breathing through his mouth heavily, chest almost heaving, and his eyes flutter as he lays there half asleep. In the few hours they've been apart, the air in the room has gone stale, reeking of illness.
The most damning evidence, however, is the damp rag Jay placed over his forehead. It doesn't seem to be helping all that much.
Or: while on a break, Jungwon becomes sick. Jay and Sunghoon take care of him the best they can, and Heeseung confronts Jungwon about some of his unhealthy mindsets.

“They got to you again,” Riki says, he doesn’t even seem upset, just sad. “They always do. That’s why you left.”
Jungwon flinches. “I didn’t leave because of them.”
“Then tell me why,” Riki challenges. His voice is barely a whisper now. “Tell me, Jungwon. For once.”
“I already did. That day. I told you.”
“You lied.”
“You don’t know that.” Jungwon’s voice cracks before he can help it, what’s the point if they both know the truth.
