So. Um.” Lance swallows and looks up at the Blade of Marmora soldier through his lashes. “What say you?”
They look down at their hands for a moment, fingers twisting together in deep thought. Then they’re pulling their gloves off, revealing pale, half-bruised knuckles of the human variation, and their mask is dissolving, giving way to big blue-purple eyes and an achingly familiar jet-black cowlick. “Who,” says Keith Kogane, in that low-pitched rumble that makes Lance’s stomach roil in the good way—holy fuck—“is this guy you’re trying to get over?”

Summary
Clementine has found, in her seventeen years of life, that the worst part about living is that you never get any breaks. No matter how many terrifying, horrific, or otherwise world-shattering events you go through, life keeps moving on, and you need to move with it. Depending on whatever nightmare she'd last endured, she's found it both a comfort and a burden.
Although, she's gotta say, she wasn't quite sure where to place 'almost dying in an old barn with a six-year-old wielding an axe' on that scale. Mainly because, well, she wasn't planning on surviving it in the first place.

Frustrated, Clementine turned back with a huff, following their fresh tracks before they began to disappear. "Violet, we have to go back to the shack. We can't just stumble around out here." Just because walkers were slower in the winter didn't mean they couldn't still be a threat. Especially as she was getting wet from snow and sweat, and it was chilling her to the bone.
"Fuck... fuck..." Violet quietly berated herself as she relented, turned and hurriedly caught up to Clementine's side, keeping close as to not get separated. She couldn't believe how quickly this weather had set in, and how much it obscured her vision. Violet had never been caught in such a storm before.
But it was not Clementine's first bad storm, and as the two trudged together through the quickly accumulating snow, she wished they had just left with the two fish when they had the chance.
Walking around, lost in the woods, in the snow and the blinding fog.
It brought back dreadful memories.
