Plagg was a creature of many things—malice, destruction, chaos and more.
He was stubborn and irritable and sarcastic.
Adrien was none of those things.

Plagg had never been one to believe in false compliments and sugary praise. Flattery was a dangerous thing; he’d witnessed it countless times and seen the spoiled fruit it often bore. Arrogance was a trait he was quick to stamp out in his wielders. Many had called him unkind, cold, even harsh—they were correct of course, however, such methods of teaching relied heavily on the Black Cat who wore his ring. Some deserved far less than what Plagg could offer.
Adrien deserved more.

Summary
If there was something that Plagg didn't have with any of his chosen ones, it was friendship. Adrien Agreste, however, was the brightest Chat Noir he had ever come across. Not that the others were bad, but usually their holders were older, bitter from the hardships they endured—and having the embodiment of bad luck with them wasn't much of a consolation. They did their duty and moved on. However, Adrien was young, sweet, and promising. Plagg still had time to save him, even if it meant becoming friends with a human.
