Summary
You arrive in Jackson, hopeful and excited for a fresh start after escaping your horrific past. Once there, you meet an unenthusiastic and cold Joel Miller who is struggling with his own unresolved traumas, and you quickly realize the two of you could not possibly be more different.
You, a hopeless dreamer and romantic, hide behind your soft words written in ink. Joel, a hardened survivor still angry at the world, hides behind a gruff exterior and protective walls he's built from unbearable grief and a deep-seated fear of loss as he is determined to keep people away by any means necessary.
Somewhere down the line, however, things start to change. New feelings take root. Joel's walls begin to crumble, and he starts to once again see light he had long considered extinguished in a post-apocalyptic world. After all of this time, Joel may finally be ready to let someone in.
