Liyue is a nation of trade, rather peaceful and prosperous, best known for the merchants and business commenced. But back in the times of war, where battle and corpses were littered everywhere, it was a nation known for its might and power, where entities of divinity congregated the thickest.
Liyue had festered in peace for so many years, its militia has grown soft, alongside with a series of other problems, something which cannot be permitted, now that it is attempting to extricate itself from the protection of the divine gazes.
Xiao doesn’t understand why the Yuheng wants him to help, or how to for that matter. But he does know that if the Qixing wants to grow independent, asking one of the Adepti for help isn’t the right way to go, so he is very resolved in ignoring the constant pleas of the Yuheng.
That is, until Rex Lapis himself comes to ask for him to aid Liyue.

So, like any exploited worker (and thanks to the perk of being a millionaire), he quits. The country erupts in less than a week.
