Summary
Izuku woke up to the sound of his alarm, the same as usual. He sat up slowly, stretching out his sore muscles from yesterday’s training. He didn’t feel great this morning, feeling tired and groggy and just overall down.
Most of the time, Izuku was able to remain a pretty happy and bubbly person, but sometimes there were days where it was just hard to be happy. Every once in a while, he would dwell on his childhood, the way he was picked on and bullied by everyone around him. He knew fully well that he was no longer in that type of situation and that he had plenty of friends that loved and supported him, but it still didn’t stop the memories from haunting him or remove the scars on his body.

It began with fatigue, with shaking hands and malaise that haunted his every step. Annoying, but not unmanageable-- Cyno was raised in the desert, after all. He'd been through worse.
So he fit a couple more hours of sleep into his already overfilled schedule and waited for the symptoms of whatever minor ailment he contracted to abate.
They didn't.

Summary
“Well… my master chef rarely makes such mistakes, unless something is bothering him.” Lyney muses, a small smile playing on his lips. “Do you want to talk about it?” He asks warmly, his thumb gently swiping against the back of Aether's hand who shakes his head.
“No..no you’re still recovering, I shouldn’t be keeping you up.” Lyney chuckles at Aether’s concern and cups his cheek, gazing at him with a grateful and somewhat amused smile.
“Mon amour… while I do appreciate you looking out for me, I promise I’ll be fine, I have been through much worse.” When Aether tenses up in worry at that statement Lyney quickly backtracks, “What I meant by that, is you don’t have to stress about me being up; I can still recover just fine even if I lose some sleep.” He pauses, a reassuring smile taking place as he makes eye contact with Aether before speaking softly, “To me, making sure my very beloved partner is okay is a much more meaningful task, and after all, I’m used to staying on my feet.”

“I recently spoke with Rex Lapis. He informed me that our contract has been nullified, and he tasked me with finding a new purpose. I interpreted this to mean he wishes for me to live a mortal life of leisure."
The Traveler glances up at the ceiling in thought. “That sounds like spending your time doing what you enjoy.”
Xiao sees the moment an idea pops into his head; he sets a sheet of paper and a pen on the floor between them, abuzz with energy.
“Xiao,” Aether begins, grinning in a way that shows his teeth, “have you ever heard of a bucket list?”
After giving Rex Lapis his thanks for rescuing him in the Chasm, Xiao is assigned a new task: live leisurely, unburdened by his contract. This novel freedom leaves him grappling to find a new purpose amidst a Liyue that no longer needs him.
Luckily, there are a myriad of people willing to teach him what it means to live like a human.

He truly had considered calling his name so many times during this journey. He thought of it while lying on the floor after being spat out of the Plane of Euthymia when he intervened for Thoma, body shaking and trembling with the aftershocks of divine lightning. He thought of it curled up in Watatsumi Island while helping out with the resistance and through the endless fighting. He thought of it while he lay curled up after Teppei’s death, quivering with heart-wrenching sobs that Paimon could do nothing about.
