"Not enough stars. Too much noise. Awful smells everywhere. The future did not impress him one bit.
In the darkness, he took advantage of Jaken’s distraction as Kagome’s grandfather for some reason pampered him in awe, and easily jumped on the roof, wishing to be by himself and plot their next moves, but Setsuna surprisingly followed, gracefully trailing his steps over the building and reaching his side. A respectable distance away, but still way closer than he would let anyone other than his close family stand.
The demon expected her to talk, eventually. He’d rather avoid it, if possible, but Setsuna could have her questions, and shooing her off...didn’t feel right.
She also brought a much needed comfort in this unknown, awful smelling town, even if he lacked the words – or perhaps, the courage – to admit it out loud. Sesshomaru spent the majority of her life, if not all, keeping track of her whereabouts from a distance, following her scent and its changes. Having her so close was...nice. Soothing.
His other comfort scent was busy telling his life story to their other child."

Summary
Following the events of Yashahime, Towa, Setsuna and Moroha decide to return to modern times — along with their parents!
There is a new world for everyone to get used to — new people, new customs, new technology, and unfortunately, when you live in such a busy world, the time one can dedicate to their family is limited. Much to Towa’s dismay, Rin knows just the thing that would allow her to spend more time with her daughters.
A poor attempt at comedy, where everyone is a bit slow, and the only person with good sense in the sessrin family is Towa.

Summary
Toph and her father have rebuilt their relationship and the Metalbending Academy has been very successful. Only there's one piece missing. Her mother. She hadn’t seen Poppy Beifong since the day she’d left home with the Avatar. Only memories of tight hands adjusting her clothes, soft worried voices, and being confined to the estate. Could she still live at the estate in Gaoling? Toph didn't know. But she never got that "life changing field trip with Zuko." Maybe now was the time.
Toph stomped toward the academy entrance, grabbed a blank sheet of paper from the front desk, and slapped it flat onto the stone floor beside Ho Tun. “There,” she said. “Write.”
He grabbed the ink brush carefully while Penga leaned closer, curiosity getting the better of her. The Dark One remained looming nearby in silence.
“Okay,” she said. “Start with... ‘Zuko.’”
Ho Tun froze mid-brush. Penga looked horrified.
“Sifu, Toph” she whispered, “you can’t address the Fire Lord by just his name.”
Toph tilted her head. “Sure I can.”
Ho Tun hesitated before slowly writing the name.
“Now write…” Toph grinned suddenly, sharp and mischievous.
‘You owe me a field trip.’”
