Lisa nodded, turning her head to press her lips to Carla’s palm. There was so much she wanted to say. So much she needed to say, but she knew there would be time for that. Carla wasn’t going anywhere. She knew that now. Thankfully, she knew that now.
“And as for this,” Carla said, voice deepening, one hand slowly dropping, fingers dragging over Lisa’s collarbone. “I want this. I want you. It’s been too long, Lisa, I need to be with you. I need to reconnect with you. I need us to be us again.”
