Summary
Jinu has spent almost his entire life in his tower, caught between a mix of fear of what the outside world holds and what it could do to him, and a desperate desire to travel freely outside his tower, even for just a couple days. As it stands, the only taste of the outside world he gets is when his father sends him on carefully controlled missions to assassinate his enemies, work made easy thanks to Jinu's ability to magically strengthen himself and others by simply singing while playing his bipa.
Rumi is a thief, working alongside her best friends, Mira and Zoey, for her--their?-- adoptive mother, Celine. When the three girls are separated after stealing a prized possession of the king, one connected to the alleged "stolen musician," a supposedly magically-inclined toddler kidnapped from the castle decades ago, Rumi stumbles quite accidentally into a clearing with an immensely tall tower.
Her decision to climb it to take shelter changes everything.
