After so many moons away, the feeling of the loamy earth on her paw pads is nearly enough to make her cry. She’d been looking over her shoulder and sleeping lightly for their entire journey; all of new-leaf, all of green-leaf, and nearly all of leaf-fall, now. She’d been away for so long. Too long.
