"Sorry to disturb you."
The stranger says, and Yuuji is willing to accept the apology almost instantly based on that face alone, because whatever this guy needed, Yuuji was fairly certain he was about to say yes to it regardless.
"But would you mind watching over my stuff?"
He points to a table filled with belongings. An opened laptop, a notepad, and a collection of stationery items that Yuuji hadn't owned since he lost his own set on the second day of the year. For one wildly optimistic half-second, his brain had supplied an alternate reality where this had been about getting his number instead... Or anything, genuinely anything, that got him out of here because he couldn't bear to stare at the assignment currently rotting away on his laptop screen for any longer.
"Oh! Uh, sure." The need to pee instantly disappears, replaced by something far more urgent - the desire to be helpful to this man, specifically, forever.
Yuuji's assigned the special task of looking after a handsome stranger's belongings at the university's library.
He guards it with his life. No one is taking his stranger's stuff whilst he's around.
And then someone steals it.
