Summary
He takes a seat beside the boy. "Be patient."
Xiao Hei tsks. Its a familiar sound, though it hasn't been used in a long time. "Patience is for losers."
"Patience is for winners," Wu Xian corrects, turning over one of the birds. Its getting delightfully brown and Xiao Hei's stomach growls louder at the sight. "Do you think the tiger catches its prey without patience? If it runs for the deer as soon as it sees it, the deer will get away and the tiger will starve."
"Am I going to starve?" Xiao Hei asks with wide eyes.
Wu Xian smiles. "No. You're not a tiger, but you might as well be one with that appetite."

“You just let me know when you’ve applied to your programmes and I’ll help you out, okay?”
Emma let out a breath. “Thank you,” she said.
“I think you’ll make a brilliant nurse, Emma,” he added.
“You hardly know me,” she protested.
He shrugged. “I can just tell.”
