    Summary

Someone had just sat at the adjacent table, and Tianlang-Jun forgot how to breathe.

Green and white robes, the colours of spring bamboo and fresh snow, cut from silk so fine it seemed to flow like water with every movement. The man who wore them moved with a controlled grace that made everyone else look clumsy by comparison — each gesture precise, deliberate, beautiful in its economy. He settled onto his cushion in one fluid motion and produced a folding fan from his sleeve, snapping it open with a flick of his wrist that was almost musical.

He looked like a painting. He looked like a poem. He looked like the kind of beauty that started wars and ended dynasties, and he was sitting close enough that Tianlang-Jun could see the faint embroidery on his sleeves — bamboo leaves stitched in thread just slightly darker than the silk beneath.

"Zhuzhi-Lang," he whispered, unable to look away. "Tell me you see him too. The beauty in green. Please tell me I'm not hallucinating."

There was a sigh from his nephew, "This one sees him, Junshang."

    ---

What if Tianlang-Jun and Head Disciple Shen Jiu met instead?
A fic about falling in love, art and learning to speak without words.

    Summary

Shen Jiu remembered the day he'd gotten his soulmate mark with vivid clarity. It had been the depths of winter, the eve of his eleventh year. Outside the wind had been howling. Dark clouds covered the moon. He jolted up staring down at the glittery lines of gold that shifted in the dim light of the room's single candle. It was a beautiful mark, curving lines of plum blossom sparked over his skin along with winding delicate bamboo.

His gut twisted, some hole opening that he had never expected. This was the mark of a scholar surely, an elegant master. Not a someone who lived in the dirt. More importantly. It did not match Yue Qi's.

    -or-

Shen Jiu gets his soulmate mark, meets a strange boy, and learns he might have a particular taste for fools.

    Summary

Shen Yuan was a failure by every measure, only able to support himself because his family was wealthy as the nobles of Shen Jiu's world. He might as well have been a spoiled little lord.

But Shen Yuan wasn't much like a lord, too strange, too awkward. He didn't look at others like things he could possess like Qiu Jianluo had. He didn't carry that entitled sort of arrogance, even when he really should have. Instead he'd shuffle into the bathroom, scuffing his socked feet, ducking his head as he asked Shen Jiu for the fifteenth time what order he was supposed to put on the various creams for his face. He'd flush when Shen Jiu called him a fool, then flush more when Shen Jiu sat him down and applied everything for him.

Against all odds, he was sweet.

    Shen Jiu wanted him badly.

    -or-

Shen Jiu does everything but communicate to get his man. Maybe Shen Yuan wasn’t the only fool in this house.

    Summary

Shen Yuan collided not with the solid ground but with a soft silky fabric. A wince came from above him and he blinked up. A boy stared at him, pale eyes wide as coffee dripped down his pretty face.

Shen Yuan grimaced, forcing himself back onto his knees.

"Oh— Oh no, I'm so sorry! " He waved his hands back and forth unsure of where to start.

The boy continued to stare. The coffee hadn't just spilled on his face, Shen Yuan realized with a sinking heart. It had splashed across the elegant set of hanfu the boy was wearing. These weren't just some cheap set you might find online. This looked like real embroidered silk!

"You poor thing," Shen Yuan rustled in his pocket looking for anything he could use. He withdrew a rumpled but clean tissue and started to pat the boy's face. "Totally my fault alright? Let me pay for the dry cleaning. Actually let me buy you a whole new set of clothes, hm?"

    -or-

Shen Jiu reverse transmigrates and meets his exact type of man: dumb.
