Summary
He whirled around to see an older man, dressed in the standard white garb of a Fortunan but with his hood down. The man’s hair was a pale white, which he didn’t seem quite old enough for but it was definitely not Nero’s place to say anything about white hair, and his face was calm yet severe, halfway to a grimace already even before Nero could open his mouth.
Instead of saying anything though, the man just stared as he dropped his hand. Nero gave him a few seconds before scowling, “What’re you looking at?”
After a further moment of silence, the man finally said, “My apologies. You seemed to be looking for something.”

or, vergil somehow washes up on fortuna at about the same time as the yamato, body still intact but mind in shatters. he still ends up with a messy family reunion, though at least this time, it's definitely not his fault.

Summary
The voice continues, “Hey, down here.”
Vergil complies against his better judgment, but it takes him a second to realise where the sound is even supposed to be coming from. It's only when his shadow's left hand, the one not clutching the Yamato, moves of its own accord to rub against his shadow's face that he realises what must be happening. A shadow cannot be fought so easily, but even intangible demons can be bested. He must bide his time. His eyes narrow at the offending invader and he voices, “Who are you?"
There’s a slight pause, as the shadow tilts its head. Finally, it replies, “The name’s Nero. And don’t scowl too much, it makes you look older than you are.”

Summary
Eris, the goddess of chaos, hates Odysseus of Ithaca for ending the Trojan War. It was her war. She started it. Who is this nobody to end it? She's furious that he's made it home to Ithaca after 20 years of torment, and she'll stop at nothing to make sure he never gets to live happily ever after. Then she can finally get back to her regularly scheduled plans of plunging the world into chaos.
