Two instances of cosmic anomalies bring two different spaceships to the same universe. When both crews become stranded on a hostile planet, searching for a way home, they find they’ll have to work together to survive.

Grace is seriously out of his depth here, but he does enjoy studying all the new alien life. Rocket is teaching Rocky, his new engineer buddy, all kinds of fun things. Quill and Mantis are glad to be back with their family (even if they are stuck on a deadly planet that's trying to kill them…). Rocky sat in his xenonite ball, his legs tucked up and asleep in an attempt to speed up healing from an accident. Rocky is asleep. Rocky is sleeping and injured and Grace's only way of effectively communicating with unknown Eridians is broken.
"Aw shoot! This absolutely can get worse!"

Grace's small, shaky voice confirmed his wild hypothesis with undeniable certainty. Grace was in the body and mind of a pebble, a new-hatch in an Eridian timeline, but still very very young even by earth standards... Oh god, Rocky couldn’t do this.
Rocky stumbles upon Grace curled up under his bed, shaking with fear, heartbeat erratic, and inexplicably, somehow, far too small.

Summary
The arrival at Erid is a momentous occasion. Rocky is excited and thrilled. Ryland is overwhelmed. But the reunion is happy, beautiful, amazing.
Or that's what it should have been. Except Rocky gets hurt, Ryland is left to try and communicate with an alien planet, and everyone is scrambling to figure out how to do this. To Grace, this is incredible but also bittersweet - he got Rocky home safely with the taumoeba, now he just gets... to starve. To Erid, this is insane - how did Rocky show up in an alien spaceship with a child???

Ryland Grace is stuck trying to speak Eridian, immediately makes himself sound like a child, and Rocky's world and family scramble to help this strange pebble. Misunderstandings galore, alongside hurt/comfort and angst and fluff.
