He pauses, waiting for…what exactly, he isn’t sure—an accusation, some sort of pushback, anything to validate the notion that the world would be better off without him. But Chuuya only looks at him expectantly.
Verlaine sighs. “But I’m not planning to go anywhere. If you want me to stay…”
“Stay.” The command, quiet as it is, rings with fervent insistence. “Just be there. Stay. That’s enough for now.”
Chuuya, Verlaine, and a promise.
(Three years after Verlaine shuts himself away, an incident brings him back into Chuuya’s orbit.)

Summary
The classes of Teyvat Academy and U.A. only wanted to try their hand at rescue Hero work, yet a sudden attack at the USJ derails that plan. Disaster has struck and now Class 1A have to fend for their lives while also protecting the Quirkless kids hailing from the abusive Teyvat Academy. It's their duty after all.
So then why are those same Quirkless kids just...solving the problem?

A bit of fun I couldn't resist because Parade of Providence was over way too soon, and I had my own thoughts about every moment he was on screen, and also those he wasn't.

Scaramouche stares at the stranger in silence, trying to comprehend the gravity of their situation. "So you're saying... we are trapped here?" He tries not to sound too accusing because it's not the man's fault that they're currently several metres underground but by Archons, he feels like he wants to bash his head against the wall. This is not how he expected his week to be like.
"Yep." The man replies. For someone who is trapped underground, the stranger seems awfully casual about it.

After successfully obtaining the Electro Gnosis for himself, Scaramouche deserts the Fatui and flees from Inazuma. On his way to Sumeru, aware that the Fatui will soon come to dispose of him, he obscures himself within the wide plains of the Sumeru desert, at least until he establishes contact with the Doctor. There, he meets a strange desert boy with the most captivating green eyes he's ever seen.
