Summary
After Hiccup is banished from Berk for training a Night Fury, he runs away before anyone can stop him. While Berk believes he is dead, Hiccup still wants to prove that dragons and Vikings can live in peace.
After losing his leg in the battle with the Red Death, Hiccup believes he has been abandoned. Just before he takes his last breath, he is saved by none other than Viggo Grimborn. Brought to the Hunters' Island, he is taught the hunters' ways. Viggo makes him a skilled dragon hunter and his right hand man, earning Hiccup the title of "Witch."
Although Hiccup hates helping hunters capture and sell dragons, Viggo's respect gives him a sense of belonging. He does his best to change the hunters, teaching them to respect dragons rather than simply kill them.
Five years after Hiccup left Berk, his past finally catches up with him. Berk has learned to live alongside dragons, and when Stoick discovers his long lost son is alive, he is determined to bring Hiccup home to him and his long lost wife.

Summary
When his father left with Toothless to pursue Helheim’s Gate, Hiccup lost the last piece of hope he had been desperately clinging to. Stoick had disowned him. Toothless had been taken from him. And now, the sky itself had been stolen from him.
It was the final drop for our dear Hiccup.
So, he would take one last flight.
