Summary
When Fire Lord Iroh asks Chief Arnook to send the future Fire Lady, Princess Yue of the Northern Water Tribe, to an extended stay in the Fire Nation before she and his nephew are wedded, everything seems perfect on paper. For the first time in centuries, both the Fire Nation and the Water Tribe will be joined through marriage, a beautiful omen for a harmonious future.
In reality, behind closed doors, Yue is in love with Sokka, her best friend’s brother, and planning an escape with her true love, risking exile for breaking her betrothal.
Katara absolutely will not let that happen, even if it means pretending to be Yue to the entire Fire Nation and lying through her teeth for months. All she has to do is convince Prince Zuko to break the betrothal himself before she disappears and gives Yue a chance to come home without being blamed for the fallout.It should be simple. Except that when she meets Zuko, it really, really isn’t.

Summary
It was a brilliant plan, all things considered.
On paper and in the eyes of the public, they were a charming if oddly mismatched couple who somehow found love despite their differences. A fairy tale come to life, sighed the more romantic members of Ba Sing Se society.
So it was almost a shame that Katara's courtship with Prince Zuko was ultimately nothing more than an act - otherwise, they might have been a perfect match, if not the perfect partners in crime.
