Aoi Todo, one of the most powerful (if not the most powerful) at Kyoto, a boy who could crack Itadori's skull open right now, spit on the broken bones, and tell him how pathetic he is right now. This guy, this guy, was there telling Yuji that they would battle together, as equals, on the same level. Because, in his mind, they are on the same level.
The boy who caused a massacre in Shibuya, which caused the death of a student, a teacher, and many other people he didn't see, was on the same level as a Jujutsu sorcerer.
If he had the strength, Yuji would laugh. But now all he can say is:
“Todo…I can’t…fight anymore.”

“Love you,” Yuuji mumbles against his skin, so soft and sincere that Megumi’s heart swells. “So much. Don’t know what to do with it.”
Megumi’s arms come up around him in response, holding him close, and he presses a gentle kiss to the top of Yuuji’s wet hair. “I love you, too,” he answers, and the words feel inadequate for the depth of what sits in his chest – but Yuuji seems to understand anyway, because the purr spikes in intensity again, warm and elated and completely unrestrained.

Yuji finds out he’s going to be executed in 24 hours, everyone is sad.

“Fushiguro?”
I look up at him, Itadori’s pink hair ruffled from sleep and his pajamas a comfortable mess atop his body. A pink t-shirt that matches his hair with white shorts that fall just below his knees. His eyes tired and red-rimmed from seemingly crying, part of me wishes I could’ve been there to comfort him.
His eyes were soft with concern, but I almost couldn’t see it with how lightheaded I felt. I’m so close to collapsing that a part of me hopes I do, because if I collapse, maybe he’ll catch me, maybe he’ll hold me tight and never let go.
“You okay? You look like you’ve been crying. It’s pretty late, you should be sleeping.”
My head falls on his shoulder, whether it’s on purpose or not, I can’t tell. My arms wrap loosely around his waist and my tears fall freely, dampening his neck and the shoulder of his clothing in a silent mess.
“I’m fine…” I whisper, my voice ragged and choked. “Just… let me have this…”
