Summary

Taylor gets reincarnated as a Valyrian child decades before the Doom and has to survive growing up in a culture that sacrifices children who aren't exceptional enough and *recycles their souls*. Most of her peers are also reincarnated in-world. Also they visited Sothoryos on a field trip and Taylor had to mind control river dragons to wrestle King Kong's albino father to cover their escape.
House Haimonis's lord and lady (Taylor's parents) are remarkably affable for a man who turned an assassin into a meat brick and a Dothraki into a centaur, and a woman who failed to reform society via revolution and so married into it and now turns slaves into living furniture for fun. They see Taylor plotting revolution and laugh it off like "Ah, youth!". Very callously alien mindset befitting of the Freehold.

Summary
Doctors Jack and Maddie Fenton make a pact; it's a perfectly logical one, albeit emotionally difficult to contemplate.
Neither of them wants to become one of the evil, ectoplasmic monsters they hunt. So, after Maddie brings up the uncomfortable possibility of what if one of them did come back as a ghost, each of them makes a promise: if either of them does, in fact, die and produce a ghost, the other will dutifully eradicate it. Simple as that.
A heartbreaking possibility, but ultimately comforting, Maddie thinks, to know that her husband won't let her become what they hate.
At least, it was comforting, right up until the moment she wakes up outside of her own mangled body, surprisingly mentally sound and intact, only to find herself on the other end of Jack's blaster.
