When Sephiroth dies his final death Gaia launches his spirit as far away from the Lifestream as possible, straight into another universe entirely.
The Order of the Sword sought to create both a saint and a tool. They succeeded, to a point. They just never realized their miracle had lived an entire lifetime before opening his eyes beneath Fortuna Castle.
Reborn into a body built from the blood of Sparda and human ambition, Subject-01 knows only laboratories, ceremonies, and the cold comfort of the half devil imprisoned alongside him. He has never known a world beyond the walls of Fortuna Castle, but the dying son of Sparda trapped there with him refuses to let the child believe those walls are all there is.
Vergil still isn't sure if the mysterious child in the Order's laboratory is real or not.

Summary

Summary
Fandral doesn't understand what his friends have against Thor's younger brother. Sure the younger prince can be cold, but he's also witty, smart and honestly pretty attractive.
As Fandral spends more time with Loki, he finds out how far Asgards rejection of the prince goes and see's the consequences of that dismissal when Loki falls from the Bifrost.
