4c scrambled back, pressing himself even further into the wall. He could feel the slime of his skin soften against the wall, finding fluidity in his panic. "Oh god." He whispered. The knight's head shot up, his dull eyes piercing into 4c's. "Oh god. Please don't kill me."
The knight stared at him, unblinking and unmoving. His eyes were dark, pupils blown wide. 4c didn't release any of the tension in his body, trying his hardest not to move. He didn't want to set the knight off - he didn't want to be next. That's what they had supposedly been here for, after all.

4c didn't know what he did wrong. That didn't stop the kingdom from coming after him, and it didn't stop someone from saving him from a death sentence.

He hated that the honesty actually hurt more than the jab. High and fucking mighty aren’t we? Nom did not like the tone his thoughts took, the way he could feel himself slipping already. He needed to get a fucking grip, he’s the one who started it anyways!
“How’ve you been? I know we haven’t seen each other much.” Scott looked at him carefully, but not critically. It felt dissonant with everything else.
Who’s fault is that?
“Fine. I suppose like you, not bad but not great. Just making it work for the moment.”
Scott’s eyes went flinty for a moment before flickering with pain.

Summary
Katie has always struggled with nightmares, ever since she left the Blue Kingdom. The absence of her brother and the constant guilt and uncertainty always catch up with her at night, but she's used to it. It's fine.
Kitty is very new to this whole... human thing. Everything is strange and things feel weird, and the complete lack of rest that she gets from this thing called 'sleeping' certainly isn't helping. They choose not to think about it as much as possible, but some things can't be fully ignored.
