Summary
“Isn’t it easy to lie?”
“Not at all.” Sheena replied quickly. Her head shook in the mirror.
“Why not? Mimi can tell a lie easy! Mimi hates Sheena!”
Standing behind the girl brushing her hair, the bright smile Sheena could see on Mimi’s face warmed her heart.
“Well, it’s easy if the person you’re telling knows you’re lying. But if I didn’t know you were lying just now and got upset, wouldn’t you feel bad?”
Mimi’s eyes turned up, as if she was trying to look at Sheena behind her without turning her head.
“Of course, Mimi would feel bad. She made Sheena sad.”
“That’s why lying is hard Mimi. Because when you lie, you can see what happens to the person you tell. You must live with the guilt, or tell them the truth and apologise to get rid of it.”
Mimi was quiet for a moment, before she spoke again, raising a question.
“But what if a lie makes the other person happy? Mimi wouldn’t feel guilty if her lie made Sheena smile.”
Sheena felt herself smile knowingly, the image of Mimi telling a small white lie flashing in her mind.
“I think you would Mimi.”

Or four times they failed to lie, and one time it lasted a little too long.

Summary
Heian, the Lieutenant General of the Midnight Rangers, always felt that there was something missing from the natural balance of Solaris-3.
Light and darkness, day and night, The Sentinels and The Threnodians. Everything in the world was hung on a delicate balance that threatened to shatter at any moment. As a Congenital Resonator, with a Forte that seemed a little too unique, it was his mission to find where he sat on the world's delicate set of scales.
