after a terrifying night in which kris is found injured, bleeding, and running through a storm with no clear destination, susie chases them down and refuses to let them disappear. what starts as panic and confusion slowly turns into something steadier as she realizes kris isn’t just hurt—they’re overwhelmed, running on instinct from something they can’t explain. sheltered from the rain in an empty bus stop, susie stays with them, tending to their injuries and pushing past kris’s habit of shutting everyone out. even as kris insists she shouldn’t be involved, susie makes it clear she’s not going anywhere, and for the first time, kris lets someone stay.
