She turned her head to look at DJ who was looking at her with a concerned look on his face along with a frown.
She really didn't wanna him to see her like this. If it anyone else she'd be embarrassed of course, but DJ? She always presented herself in a certain way in front of DJ. Confident and sure of herself but friendly and always ready for his bomb ass food.
So her crying in front of him? Embarrassing as shit.
"Are you ok?" He asked at the same time she asked "Why are you here?"
Or, alternatively, Gwen cries over a stupid guy who plays guitar while DJ tries to make her feel better.

"Hold on, please," Phainon says, grabbing hold of Mydei's arm in desperation, trying to keep him on the bed.
Mydei doesn't listen. He pulls himself free, striding across the room to tear open the curtains obscuring the only window. Outside the window, he can see the source of the light that had blinded him:
There is no newborn sun of the new dawn. Instead, Kephale's Dawn Device still towers over Okhema. Below them, the city is eerily quiet.
This is Okhema frozen in time, its citizens gone. Even the birds have been silenced. An afterimage of the past, of time together they'd sacrificed in search of the new sunrise. None of this can be real—a beautiful dream crafted to deceive him, only one that is now fraying at its edges, showing the rot underneath.
"If this is the Era Nova, then where is the sun we were promised?" Mydei whispers under his breath.

When Mydei gasps back to life after Amphoreus' last cycle, the world he returns to is no longer the one he remembers—and neither is Phainon waiting at his bedside.Or Mydei wakes up on the Herta Space Station.

When he returns, Phainon is aglow in a warm orange from the light of a newly made campfire, his sword leaned against the wall beside him and his jacket draped over his crossed legs as he prods at a spot on his left side.
Mydei pauses for all of a second before he stomps over, scowling. “You said you were fine.”

Phainon rolls his eyes at him playfully. But he leans closer and nuzzles his nose against Mydei's cheek. "Can I kiss you?", he asks.
The prince lifts a judgmental eyebrow and stares at the bloody ground they’re standing on. "Here?"
"Yes. I know it's not exactly romantic but I really want to kiss you right now, Mydeimos." Phainon pleads and nuzzles their noses together again.
It's hard to deny his Deliverer anything. So he doesn't.
Or: 4 times Phainon kisses Mydei and the one time Mydei kisses him and adds a word to the kremnoan dictionary

Summary
Mydei wordlessly lifts his hand, palm up.
Without missing a beat, Phainon leans in and places his chin gently in the offered palm, like it’s the most natural thing in the world. Like he’s some overgrown dog.
It’s funny how far Phainon has to lean down to place his face on Mydei’s palm like this.
Mydei has never had a dog, but it feels like he has an emotional support dog for when the days are rough.
