This whole idea had been a terrible mistake, Mel decided. She had agreed to the blind date two weeks ago after deliberating over it for days. Trinity had been the one to arrange it, actually, through her girlfriend Yolanda. She had insisted that the man they were setting her up with had known Yolanda since med school and was “not a complete pig”, which in Trinity-speak was the equivalent of nominating him for Time magazine’s person of the year. Now, sitting in the overpriced restaurant, she was doubting her own decision-making.
