Summary
Set after the events of Encore of Ghosts, this multi-part epilogue follows Zoey, Rumi, and Mira through pregnancy, birth, and the quiet, life-altering aftermath of welcoming their child into the world.
From brutal first-trimester sickness and the slow realization that Zoey can’t do everything she used to, to navigating maternity leave, public scrutiny, family history, and the deep fear of repeating old cycles, this story focuses on the deeply human side of choosing love and softness after surviving trauma.
The journey culminates in a home water birth shaped by trust, intimacy, and fierce partnership, followed by the tender, chaotic reality of newborn life, healing bodies, and discovering that family can be built intentionally, imperfectly, and with overwhelming love.
Domestic, emotional, grounded, and intimate, this is a story about choosing each other, again and again, and building something new from the ghosts left behind.
