“Once or twice, but that’s what friends do,” Haeji explained gently. “Why, the number of times that I kept it a secret that I was going out to demon hunt on my own was at least 100. When Ha-yun and Neji found out they were angry with me, sure, but they understood that I needed space.”
Celine looked away for a moment.
“Is it…is it bad that I’m mad at them? I mean, sure, I don’t like drinking or alcohol or any of that stuff, but… I would’ still go if invited.”
“Not at all, little sprout. As I said, secrets are normal, and you three will never be able to function if you are constantly at each other's throats demandin to know each other's secrets.” Haeji said softly, watching Celine’s eyes carefully. “You don’t like being alone, do you?”
Celine shook her head.
“I don’t like secrets. Especially the sort that change lives,” she mumbled, her waking up one morning to her siblings packing their stuff while her mother smoked a pack of cigarettes still burned in the back of her mind and ached like an ever-healing wound. “I thought we were supposed ot trust each other.”

“We’re not going to leave your side!” The tears in Zoey’s eyes started to trail down her cheeks. She pressed her hand with a new towel up against her friend’s thigh first. “We’re right here! Just-” She cut herself off as she went to place her hand on Rumi’s arm. She froze with her facial expressions falling.
Tears started to cascade down Rumi’s face as she watched Zoey’s eyes widen, her pupils dilate and her whole body pull back just slightly.
The rapper’s gaze had fallen onto her exposed demon patterns.
Rumi let out a long trembling breath followed by a harsh whine.
She had to cover them up.

Jinu's soul has long since lost its humanity. There is no kindness nor empathy that remains. Instead, there is hatred fueled by shame that he directs towards this generation of Hunters. So when he learns one of these Hunters is half demon, that raging hatred explodes. Exposed in the bathhouse, Rumi doesn't have a choice whether or not her friends get to see the patterns she hides.

I found this concept online and I must say I got intrigued by it. So, I imagined the classical “Rumi’s patterns gets discovered way before the Saja Boys appear” trope under this light, and tried not to make it an AngstFest where all characters are terribly OOC, and I believe more in line with what the movie presented us as characterization – yeah, except Zoey, which is borderline. Hopefully, I managed to not embarrass myself. Fair warning, I just love Zoey to death and find her personality endearing and extremely close to mine (ADHD adult here with some slight Autistic Spectrum Disorder sprinkled in for fun).
So Zoey is here both as a homicidal sociopath and as a Godsent Divine savior.
I imagined her able to compartmentalize, detaching herself completely from emotional distress when such distress is unbearable… yeah, I just described dissociation. No AI was used in writing this. -

Gwi-ma runs a record label/entertainment company that has ties to(and is a front for) illegal activities and has run up a debt with various groups(Taxes, criminal organizations, and casinos). As a last ditch effort to save his own hide and make a huge profit in the process, he makes an appeal to his investors by making a rag-tag idol boy group from families that owe him money/resources. He makes these deals, saying he will forgive any debts if they sell their son(s) to him as employees(Making them essentially slaves).
