Peter Parker learns what it means to lose a father figure… again.

After leaving Avengers Tower behind, he stitches his life back together in Queens, pretending the past couple of months don’t hurt. He goes to school, builds Lego sets with Ned, listens to MJ talk about her sketches, and learns how to live without a suit, without a lab, without Tony Stark.

The drone instantly reacts and goes up. Peter lets out a small, surprised yelp when it immediately gets stuck in his hair.
Morgan finds it hilarious, laughing, “You did it! You fixed my drone!” and Peter’s gaze softens as he reaches up to wrangle the toy out of his hair.
Morgan smiles brightly up at Peter when he hands the drone back to her. “Thank you, Mr. Intern!”
*Intern*. Right. Because that's all he is to her. Just a random intern who works at her dad’s company.

For a moment, Pepper could only blink, that word slamming into her mind and blocking everything else out. Stepson?
“I don’t care what kind of beef you’ve got going on with Peter,” the woman continued, “But when a guy with a gun came in here to take your daughter, that boy didn’t hesitate to insist on taking her place, and if you don’t do everything you can to get him back, I swear, I’m going to every tabloid and newspaper in this town to tell them Tony Stark had a teenage son whether you like it or not!”
(Peter expected to have to keep his distance after stopping Morgan from being kidnapped. He did not expect Pepper Potts to do her best to parent him, despite the memory spell's effects. Reeling from the sudden influx of genuine care and support, it takes a while for him to get around to correcting a lie he told someone else, and never thought Pepper would believe in the first place.)

"Shidi finally woke up; how do you feel? Any discomfort, any memory issues?" Yue Qingyuan's voice was warm, yet carried a sense of urgency with it that had a year ago been absent.
He shook his head and blindly moved to grab his fan, but stalled when his hand met, instead of the cool press of paper and wood, warm skin and silky hair.
He shot up, twisting around to properly face this person. He barely noticed Yue Qingyuan reaching out to support his still weak body, helping him sit up enough to lean on his propped up elbow. Though that person looked to have been asleep, he was quickly waking up.
When he met that person's eyes, he recognized him straight away. Shen Jiu, the Orginal Goods, the first person that this body ever belonged to. And though he had previously viciously imagined what he would do to that scum if he ever came face to face with him, all those plans were thrown out the window.
In which a year after his first, Shen Qingqiu falls prey to a second major Qi Deviation. There are now two Shen Qingqiu's walking around - Yue Qingyuan is pleased with this new development, Shen Jiu immediately gets very attached, and Shen Yuan does not mind all this as much as he probably should.
