Summary
“Well, I heard you use the Q-word,” Buck said, after a moment, “so, that was fucked.”
“I was outside LAFD premises.”
“If we get a call now, it’s your fault.”
“If we get a call now, it’s because someone in LA needs help,” said Eddie. “Are you saying you don’t want to go help people, Buck? Because that’s your job.”
“One call is a lot different than a jinx,” he said, with an impatient sigh, like he couldn’t believe Eddie hadn’t internalized that yet. “Personally, I’d rather go to bed.”
Personally, I’d rather take you to bed, Eddie thought.

Summary
“It’s just, I found my favorite pink cardigan—laying under the bed.”
“That doesn’t sound very weird, Buck.”
“No it’s not that, there’s this weird…” Buck cocks his head to the other side, like he’s a puppy learning commands for the first time – clueless as to what’s going on. “Substance on it. I have no idea what it could be.”
“Huh, that is weird. I won—” Eddie abruptly cuts himself off.
The silence stretches for so long that Buck has to pull the phone away from his ear again to make sure the call didn’t disconnect.
It didn’t.

Summary
Eddie huffs out a breath and crosses his arms across his chest once more, guarding himself—against what, Buck’s not so sure. He looks just over Buck’s shoulder as he speaks. “You climbed the tree.”
Buck nods. He’s well aware of his actions. “That I did.”
“You climbed the tree,” Eddie repeats, licking his lips and shifting on his feet, still refusing to actually look at Buck, “and it was raining, and—it…you didn’t have to climb the tree.”
Okay, so this is clearly not about the tree, despite Eddie attempting to make it about the tree. Buck can’t help himself—he pushes.
or; Buck doesn't know why Eddie's acting so weird, and he's not letting either one of them go home until he gets to the bottom of it. Even if that means standing in the rain for an unreasonable amount of time without an umbrella.

Summary
"How- how about, they're a ten." Eddie's voice falters but he clears his throat and keeps going. "But they're in love with their best friend?”
Buck blinks. That one really came out of left field. "What? Then why are they dating me?"
"Maybe they don't know how to tell you they're gay."
"Wait, what?" Buck frowns in confusion. "So I'm dating a woman in this scenario and she's in love with her best friend but hasn't figured out how to tell me that she's gay and in love with her instead?"
"No, Buck," Eddie sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. "That's not even- no."

Summary
"You and Buck should hold hands, too."
Eddie's palm clams up.
He sends a questioning look over Chris's head. "O-kay, yeah we…" He receives a shaky nod from Buck in return. "We can do that."
Eddie wipes his hand on his jeans, hoping the denim picks up the tension in his fingers along with the sweat.
"Nervous, probie?" Buck asks, eyebrow raised.
Eddie breathes out a definitely-not-nervous laugh. "Just give me your hand, Buckley."
