It’s just… the phrase on his arm, man. Not handwriting like everyone else’s but pixel-perfect Speedwriter font. Not the standard black but a weirdly intense deep blue, like it’d been color-picked from a digital paint palette instead of anything in nature. Summary
It's been a year since his fateful simulator run, and Gordon Freeman has long since returned to the truth of his real life: PhD dropout, living alone, holding onto his research tech job at Black Mesa by a thread. But when his AI companions arrive at his employee dorm, inexplicably in the flesh, they bring a dire warning that will once again upend Gordon's entire reality. As they set off in search of a mysterious technology from Black Mesa's defunct rival company, everything would be a hell of a lot easier if they weren't also on the run from the authorities.

“Well yeah,” Red huffs, crossing his arms. Freeman swears he hears a “duh” thrown in for extra effect, but that might just be in his head. “You’re both either clones sent to kill me or alternate versions of myself, also sent to kill me.”
He punctuates it with a shrug, accompanied by a challenging look. Yellow in fact challenges it, with an impressively disappointed facepalm that sounds like it hurt as much to do as it was to witness. He can feel his parents guilting him for going across the country for college all over again. “Okay! Okay. Why are— Why do all the options include your murder, exactly?”
Freeman nods along with that completely valid question, pretending that the thought of his own murder had not been the first thing to cross his mind when meeting the duplicates. Red sends him a dirty glare, like he knows the truth. Whether or not it’s just some sort of inherent instinct that comes with being the same person, or if he’s randomly got the ability to read minds is anyone’s guess.
Imagine that, versions of him with superpowers.
OR
Gordon Freeman meets himself. Ten times, in fact. Now he's not sure what's more likely to kill him; the end of the world or these maniacs.
