'There's nothing quite like the bleeding red lines where you can see the outline of yourself in another.'so this one is short but like. as compact at it is i think its absolutely STEEPED in personal meaning and love for the characters and how they could reflect eachother and sentiment and the idea of painfully seeing yourself in the other, and extending a hand.
my favorite line: 'He can feel Chika’s tears staining his cheek from where her face is pressed to his temple, feel the way she grieves for him, for herself, for the way cages are never so easy to open.'

The baby throws back its head, and Kiryu can see it, small and red, only a week or two old at most.
The woman strokes their head and kisses the forehead, cooing into the baby. “-darling-” he catches her say, the rest of her voice still too soft, too round to understand.
Kiryu has to know who these people is, why he’s here. He needs to know who this couple and their child are. Suddenly consumed with this desire, Kiryu steps forward, and the woman’s head turns.
He knows that face.
