Summary
’Elrond can see him, sitting near the ticket queue in the same spot he’d been sleeping in, hugging his knees against the cold and watching the various passersby come and go. He can’t be older than seven or eight, dangerously thin with a mop of scraggly brown hair that covered his eyes. Briefly, Elrond wonders if he’s had anything to eat, and if so, whether it was anything remotely filling or wholesome. If he’s been to school today, if he even goes to school at this point.’
⤷ elrond has seen his fair share of homeless people at train stations.

Summary
Why had St. Thomas doubted so? His incredulity had been painted so by the masters of old, the man placing his finger inside the gaping wound of the risen body, uncertain until physical proof had been clamped against his flesh.
Thomas himself had said: Give us a Pope who doubts. But what should he say about himself, when he doubts the soon-to-be Pope?
“Show me,” he gasps out loud, in disbelief about his own words, “Unless, I will not believe.”
(In the Room of Tears, Thomas doubts. Vincent lets the doubter’s finger plunge inside.)
