old beekeepers in Sussex telling the story to a couple of young lesbians of how Watson got married to Mary, realized he was in love with Holmes, and was nudged into doing something about it. some pining, but it's quite a bit more humorous than it sounds here, probably cause old geezer Watson knows it comes out all right.
