Summary
Jack just knew, deep in his chest, that Davey wasn't telling him something. He was a bad liar to begin with, but the shifty glances and hasty exits had almost grown to be too much as of late. There was something happening and Jack was ridiculously out of the loop, which was beyond frustrating. Wasn't he supposed to be in the loop? Weren't he and Dave supposed to be best friends, or selling partners or co-presidents or whatever? He was tired of trying to catch that anxious green gaze, tired of chasing after answers.
What in the world could've been bothering Davey enough to push him to this level of silence? Jack was bound and determined to get to the bottom of it, even if it meant pushing his other priorities aside.

Summary
It was an illness that could've been avoided easily, if David would've just guarded his heart more closely. Still, he found himself hacking up the contents of his aching lungs in an uncomfortably cramped alleyway with thoughts of Jack Kelly clouding his head, and he realized that there really wasn't any coming back from this. He'd made a mistake and his life was totally and completely ruined over a boy who'd never spare him a second glance.
It was almost laughable, how much David loved Jack. He was a pathetic mess over the boy, with tiny blue flower petals stuck to his lips and chin, and visions of deep brown eyes swimming through his mind. David was lovelorn. Really and truly lovesick.

Papyrus was the sweetest person alive. He cried over shitty rom-coms with you, stayed up until 3 am on the phone with you when you couldn't sleep, and made sure you were safe when meeting random dates on the internet. He really was the best friend anyone could ever ask for.
Now if only you could get it through your damned head that he would never want anything more. He'd already rejected you.

Something in Papyrus’s expression flickered, and it must have been relief. It made your lie burn all the more.
”YES! YOU MOST DEFINITELY MADE THAT CLEAR WHEN WE BECAME FRIENDS. I WAS—AM—VERY GLAD YOU ARE NOT DEVESTATED! ...BUT DO YOU EVER WONDER..."
Papyrus’s teeth clacked shut.
”WELL! NEVER MIND THAT. YOU CRAZY KIDS HAVE FUN ON YOUR DATE TONIGHT! STAY SAFE! USE PROTECTION IF YOU DO ANYTHING WILD!"
