Summary
“Actually,” he says. “Let’s buy a house.”
“What?” Jack asks, eyes wide.
“Let’s get a house,” Dean says. “Let’s find somewhere and--and live there. Somewhere with windows.”
“Windows?” Jack says, like he’s never heard of such a thing.
“Yeah,” Dean says. “How does that sound?” Jack drops his animal crackers and throws himself at Dean, wrapping his tiny arms around Dean’s waist.

Summary
Buck’s expression crumples. “They thought we were a couple,” he says. It’s not what Eddie was expecting, and he feels wrong-footed and on the defensive all over again. It had rubbed him wrong for a lot of reasons in the diner, in front of the sheriff, but he could take it from them. He can take it from someone, anyone else, and simmer over it later, but he can let it go, put it out of his mind. But he discovers now he can’t, he can’t, take it from Buck.
Eddie isn’t sure what about it is worse. The fact that Buck wouldn’t have blinked an eye at this before, the nebulous before something went wrong, or that—
If he was brave, he would say, Is it really that awful to you? Am I really that awful?
“Yeah,” he says instead, voice as steady as he can get it, ignoring the deep, terrible feeling in his stomach, “so?”
